The summer transfer window may be over, but that doesn’t mean that Fabio Paratici’s work at Tottenham is done.
Yes, while the rumours will inevitably begin to die down and we’ll all begin to focus on matters on the pitch, in the background plans are being made and targets are being scouted.
Paratici seemingly isn’t wasting any time when it comes to planning for next summer’s transfer window, and one player Spurs are reportedly keen on is Franck Kessie.
Indeed, Football London report that Tottenham are already thinking about a free transfer move for the Ivorian when his AC Milan contract expires.
Spurs could speak to Kessie as early as January where they could sign him to a pre-contract agreement, but of course, that will depend on whether or not Milan are able to tie him down to new terms.
The Serie A outfit will undoubtedly be keen to keep hold of Kessie. He’s a very valuable player, and at the age of just 24, he has a lot of room to improve.
That’s exactly why Tottenham want him, and while the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks weren’t moved on this summer, it’s not insane to suggest that there could be a big midfield reshuffle at Spurs next summer, and if this report is to be believed, Kessie could be at the heart of that.
The midfielder is a player who has previously been described as ‘devastating’ by Antonio Cassano, and he could be a great addition at Tottenham, especially if they can get him on a free.
