TuttoMercatoWeb claim Gareth Bale has already signed a pre-contract agreement to rejoin Tottenham Hotspur for a third time. The Real Madrid attacker is out of contract in the summer, and unlikely to pen a new deal.

Bale, 32, spent last season on loan at Tottenham – scoring 16 goals in 34 games for Spurs. He was far from his best, but still made a significant enough impact. This season, he is struggling for game time at the moment.

The Wales star has been hampered by numerous injuries. A calf problem, a knee injury, a positive test and a back issue have limited him to just three appearances all season. His current Madrid deal expires in June.

Now, TMW report that Tottenham have agreed a pre-contract deal with Bale and his entourage to bring him back to Spurs for a third spell. That will see Bale return to Spurs in the summer, it is unclear how long for.

Bale to rejoin Tottenham: A good move, or born out of romance?

Given Bale is a massive player, of course, his second return is going to cause another meltdown among Spurs fans. But the fact he has been injured all season, are Spurs taking a risk by bringing the Welshman back to the club?

Spurs need more consistent options in the final third. Dejan Kulusevski has just joined, but Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and more are inconsistent. Bale brings with him that experience, a winning mentality.

If he can score 15 goals or more in a season, like he did during his loan spell back at the club, then it is a big boost. Under Antonio Conte, surely, he has the chance to thrive.
