According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur admire Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon – but don’t plan to sign him.
It’s claimed that Spurs aren’t prioritising a left back right now, with Jose Mourinho happy with his depth in that position.
Ben Davies is first-choice, whilst Mourinho also has Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga and teenager Dennis Cirkin who can all play there. Even new signing Matt Doherty is an option on the left in an emergency.
Spurs have allegedly watched Reguilon extensively, but only a bargain price tag – similar to the fee paid for Doherty – would manage to tempt Tottenham into a deal.
That is hugely unlikely, as Real Madrid aren’t exactly ones to sell young talent for knockdown fees, especially off the back of strong loans.
Reguilon spent last season on loan at Sevilla, where he notched three goals and five assists in a superb attacking campaign.

The 23-year-old now returns to Real, but has little chance of first-team football given that Zinedine Zidane already has Marcelo and Ferland Mendy at left back.
Maybe Spurs could look at a loan deal, but a permanent move just doesn’t seem possible this summer – no matter how much they like the Spaniard.
