Two Bundesliga clubs are said to have expressed interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s 23-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur insist Kevin Wimmer is not for sale amid interest from two Bundesliga clubs, a report in Wednesday’s Sun newspaper claims (page 55).
The Austrian arrived at White Hart Lane a year ago in a £4.3 million deal from FC Koln. However, the form of regular centre-back pairing Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld restricted him to just 10 appearances in the Premier League – and German pair Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen appear to have sensed an opportunity.
Despite this, though, the Sun reports that Wimmer is keen to stay put.
As things stand, the 23-year-old is in pole position to replace Vertonghen, who is set to miss the start of the campaign with an injury suffered at Euro 2016.

However, the Sun reports (also page 55) that Spurs are ‘locked in a battle’ with Liverpool to sign Germany left-back Jonas Hector, who played alongside Wimmer at Koln.

Should the Londoners secure Hector, who the Bundesliga side are said to value at £17 million, it is likely that Wales star Ben Davies would be moved to centre-back – adding to Wimmer’s competition.
