The report claims that the Scottish Premiership side are reluctantly willing to consider a deal for the centre-back.
Celtic’s Jozo Simunovic
A report in the Daily Mail has claimed that Torino are hoping to pull off a £3.75m move for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic before the end of the window.
The Serie A side are pursuing a loan deal for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, and hope to follow that move up by bringing the centre-back in.
Torino are also looking to sign Joe Hart on loan
The 22-year-old has been on Torino’s radar for much of the window, but the Mail reported earlier in the month that their interest had waned due to Simunovic’s struggles with his fitness. However, it appears that they are prepared to take the gamble as the deadline looms.
And the Mail is claiming that the Hoops – who are closing in on a move for right-back Cristian Gamboa from West Brom – are reluctantly willing to consider the idea of letting Simunovic leave as Brendan Rodgers looks to cut the numbers within his squad.

Though Simunovic’s performances last season often suggested that he had the potential to be the best centre-back in the Bhoys’ squad, he has spent a considerable amount of time on the sidelines due to injury – he is yet to play this term – and the Mail report that Torino’s offer would see Celtic make a profit on the player.
And if Rodgers feels that he cannot rely on the Croatian, then he may decide that it makes sense to take the money and perhaps reinvest it on his remaining targets.
