Lille central defender Sven Botman has now decided to move to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and will undergo a medical soon, according to reports from 90min and Fabrizio Romano.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has reported on Twitter that Botman will travel to Newcastle early next week and will undergo a medical.
Paperworks for the transfer deal have already been completed, according to the Italian journalist.
90min have also reported that Newcastle have won the race for Lille defender Botman, described as “a top player” by former St. James’ Park star Jonathan Woodgate on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport this month.
It was only this week that Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Botman wanted to move to AC Milan and was waiting for the Italian champions to strike a deal with Lille, as quoted in MilanNews.it.

It seems that Botman has now changed his mind about a potential Newcastle move.
