West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis will battle Watford to the signing of his former Crystal Palace player Joe Ledley, the Sun reports (2 May, page 54).
Ledley is out of contract at Selhurst Park this summer, three-and-a-half years since his transfer from Celtic was approved by Pulis.
And the Wales midfielder’s chances of earning a new one appear slim, having made just 13 Premier League starts all season and failed to feature in all but one of Palace’s last 11 matchday squads.
West Brom are expected to add to their central midfield ranks this summer, with Sporting’s William Carvalho also linked.

However, Ledley’s lack of transfer fee means the Baggies could still move for him if the £30 million-rated Portuguese arrives.
In that case, the 30-year-old’s chances of first team football would likely be greater at Watford, although Pulis’ long-standing interest – he was first linked with Ledley in 2008 – could put West Brom in the driving seat regardless
Is Palace’s Ledley a good option for West Brom/Watford?
