The Daily Mail has reported that Celtic are on the brink of signing Daniel Arzani.

The Record reported last month that the 19-year-old would join Celtic on a two-year loan as soon as his transfer to Manchester City from Melbourne City is complete.

And The Daily Mail now reckon that the Australia international is “poised” to complete his switch to Parkhead after undergoing his City medical in England on Friday.

The report adds that the Hoops will have beaten off competition of Fortuna Dusseldorf and Rennes, with The Mail adding that Celtic star Tom Rogic persuaded the youngster to come to Glasgow.

Rogic and Arzani both featured for the Socceroos at the World Cup in Russia earlier this summer and the brilliant midfielder has seemingly convinced his international team-mate to join the Bhoys.

According to the report, Arzani will head North of the border once the Scottish Premiership champions push through the work permit application.

If and when they sign him, Arzani, who made three appearances for Australia at the World Cup, will be Brendan Rodgers’s third summer signing after Scott Bain and Odsonne Edouard.
