Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll could be set to join Swansea City in January.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Tom Carroll is on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

Carroll has slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, and barely featured for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.

The diminutive midfielder has made just three appearances all competitions, with Pochettino continuously overlooking him.

The arrival of Victor Wanyama, combined with the emergence of Harry Winks, has seen Carroll become an expendable player for Spurs, and the North London club are now hoping to cash in.

The Telegraph claim that Swansea City are interested in snapping up Carroll, as they look to add quality to their squad.

Swansea are apparently prepared to make an £8 million bid for Carroll, although reports yesterday claimed Spurs want £10 million for the 24-year-old (South Wales Evening Post).

Carroll has previously spent time on loan with the Swans back in the 2014/15 campaign, when he made 18 appearances across the course of the season.
