The former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager is reportedly a contender to succeed Mick McCarthy at Portman Road.
Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa boss, is understood to have held talks with Ipswich Town, according to the Sun (May 8th, age 51).
Ipswich have yet to identify Mick McCarthy’s replacement after the Irishman’s departure last month, and could reportedly turn to Sherwood, who last managed Aston Villa in October 2015.
Since then the 49-year-old has had a brief spell as Swindon Town’s director of football, but is closing in on a year out of work.
And his appointment would unlikely be well received by Ipswich fans, especially having played for rival club Norwich City.
A more successful youth coach, Sherwood did however have a hand in the development of England internationals Harry Kane and Harry Winks at Tottenham, and will be known to Town’s former Spurs winger Grant Ward.
Sherwood is 11/1 to be the new boss at Portman Road, with Scott Parker, a current Tottenham youth coach, 18/1 (Sky Bet).
