Jose Sa is heading to England today for a medical with Wolverhampton Wanderers after the Premier League outfit agreed a £7 million deal with the Olympiakos goalkeeper, as reported by Sportime.
When those ‘Sa to Wolves’ rumours first emerged at the start of June, we never could have imagined that England would be a penalty shoot-out away from glory, that France would flop so spectacularly at Euro 2020, that Turkey would perform less like dark horses and more, well, like a bunch of turkeys.
But, after six weeks of speculation, it seems that one of the summer’s longest-running transfer sagas is finally coming to an end.
The completion of a deal that saw Rui Patricio leave Molineux for Roma on Tuesday has paved the way for Sa to pack his bags and head to England at last, with the 28-year-old shot-stopper set to replace his compatriot in Bruno Lage’s starting XI.
Will Jose Sa sign for Wolves today?
According to Greek publication Sportime, Wolves have agreed a £7 million deal with the Portuguese powerhouse; a 6ft 4ins giant of a man who commands his penalty area with an authority and a confidence reminiscent of Patricio in his pomp.

It is understood that Jose Sa will fly to England later today to dot the I’s, cross the T’s and undergo an extensive medical examination.
Given that the former Porto stopper has averaged 40 games a season during three years at Olympiakos, that is likely to be a little more than a formality.
Wolves had also been linked with Fiorentina’s Bartlomiej Dragowski, West Brom’s Sam Johnstone and former Aston Villa youngster Pierluigi Gollini.
But it looks like Jose Sa will get the nod instead as Wolves’ pursuit of a new number one comes to an end.
