According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace may now reassess the credentials of three managers after Lucien Favre’s shock U-turn.
What’s the story?
Well, the 63-year-old stunned Steve Parish on Thursday when he changed his mind about a move to Selhurst Park.
A deal had been verbally agreed, with Favre set to put pen to paper on Thursday.
However, the Swiss coach has now decided it’s too soon for another top-flight job, having been sacked by Borussia Dortmund in December.
According to The Athletic, the Eagles could now reassess Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche as they hunt for Roy Hodgson’s replacement.
Wildly underwhelming

Once a boss of Favre’s calibre has been danged in front of Crystal Palace fans, very few managers will soften the blow of his U-turn.
Not least the likes of Lampard, Howe and Dyche.
Howe suffered relegation with Bournemouth in 2020/21, while Lampard was sacked early on in the season.
Dyche is by far the safest option, but supporters were keen to see a more expansive style of play after Hodgson’s woeful style of football.

From what we’ve seen at Burnley, the 49-year-old wouldn’t differ from Hodgson’s style too much.
Hopefully, Favre and Parish can sort something out, because this is starting to become a messy situation for the south Londoners, to say the least.
