One former side are said to be among those keen on the exiled Rangers midfielder.

At least three English clubs are ready to offer Joey Barton a Rangers escape route, according to the Daily Record.
Barton was banished from Ibrox six weeks ago, following an alleged bust-up involving teammate Andy Halliday and manager Mark Warburton.

However, the midfielder’s future could finally be decided this week, with a disciplinary hearing said to be on the cards.
Whether Barton’s contract is terminated or not, the report claims there is little chance of him playing his way back into Rangers’ plans.

And the 34-year-old could be allowed to work on his fitness levels at the Gers’ Auchenhowie training facility ahead of a January return to England.
Rangers will have no shortage of takers it seems with Burnley, along with at least two other clubs south of the border, apparently keen to throw their former captain a lifeline.

Barton was Burnley’s player of the year as they lifted the Championship title last season, but admitted that the “competitive animal” in him could not resist Rangers’ advances.
The Liverpudlian has played just eight times for Rangers – his last outing being September’s 5-1 defeat to bitter rivals Celtic.
