It has been quite a turnaround for Gareth Bale at Tottenham Hotspur in the last few weeks.

Bale had badly struggled at Spurs following his summer move from Real Madrid up until recently, and it seemed highly unlikely that he would stay in North London next season, after such a minimal impact.

However, in the past three weeks, Bale has rapidly shown his quality again.

The 31-year-old now has four goals in his last four appearances and Jose Mourinho is starting to speak very positively about his ability.

The winger is now becoming a vital part of Tottenham’s team and there is a feeling he could have a huge role to play in the remainder of the season.

The Daily Express even claim that the turnaround is so vast that Bale’s move to Spurs could be made permanent.

Real Madrid don’t want Bale back despite his good form, and they plan to offer Tottenham the chance to take him for the long-term.

Madrid apparently are aiming to fund a move for Kylian Mbappe, and they know that they would be increasing their chances of making the mega-money move if they can clear Bale’s salary off their wage-bill.

The claims are also backed up by transfer insider Dean Jones, who told the Rank FC Podcast.

“I think they’re going to keep him. Madrid don;t want him back and he wants to stay at Tottenham,” he said.

“He genuinely loves it there and they love having him. In the dressing room he has helped the team unity and has been bringing on some of the younger lads. He’s been fine in training and apparently he’s quite low maintenance.
“All they have been hoping for is that he can find the form they know he is capable of and they’re happy to sign him.”

The latest twist is sure to excite Spurs fans, who have relished seeing Bale back to his best.

And if he can continue to have such an impact between now and the end of the season, then Spurs may just make a success out of this campaign yet.
