Arsenal’s Theo Walcott wants to stay put despite interest from West Ham.

Theo Walcott will resist attempts from West Ham to try and sign him this summer and plans to fight for his place at Arsenal, The Star reports.

It is claimed by the paper that Walcott is not deterred by the club chasing winger Thomas Lemar, despite needing to earn a World Cup 2018 spot with England.

West Ham are willing to offer Arsenal £20 million for the winger, The Star claims.

Walcott has been capped 47 times by England since being handed a controversial debut in 2006, scoring eight goals.

Last season at Arsenal he score 19 goals in 37 games in all competitions, with 10 coming in the Premier League.

West Ham have been desperate to add new faces up front and on the wing and while Walcott is sometimes dismissed as being a player with unfulfilled potential, he is a proven Premier League goalscorer who would really improve the Hammers.

Walcott’s situation could change if Arsenal make good on their attempts to add new faces, but the uncertainty over Alexis Sanchez’s future does not help West Ham’s pursuit of the England international.

The Hammers are also keen on Olivier Giroud, with The Mirror reporting Arsenal want at least £30 million for the Frenchman.
