Arsenal look set to secure their second signing of the January transfer window in the shape of Jakub Kiwior.
The Poland international is reportedly set to fly to London this weekend to complete medical tests with the Gunners, and if all goes to plan, he will be an Arsenal player next week.
The north London club have already signed Leandro Trossard to bolster their left-wing position, and now Kiwior is set to add more depth at the back.
Arsenal reportedly already know the role they want Kiwior to play.
Indeed, according to The Telegraph, the Gunners see the Spezia defender as a backup and a competitor to Gabriel Magalhaes as the team’s left-sided centre-back.

This sounds very promising indeed.
Not only do Arsenal need depth in that spot, the fact that the Gunners believe Kiwior has the ability needed to be a long-term challenger to Gabriel is also a huge bonus. After all, competition is incredibly healthy within a team that is challenging for the top honours in English football.
All of a sudden, with these two additions, Arsenal’s squad depth problems are evaporating.
A new midfielder is probably still needed – hence the links to Eduardo Camavinga, and while many thought Arsenal may struggle in the absence of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah’s ability to step up to the plate has left the Gunners without much need for a new number nine.
Arsenal are building a team that is truly capable of winning the Premier League title, and given the age profile of the majority of their squad, including Kiwior, this team could be perennial contenders for years to come.
It’s certainly an exciting time to be an Arsenal supporter.
