Serie A side Lazio are keen on the Frenchman’s signature.
Newcastle’s Florian Thauvin before the game
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Florian Thauvin’s agent is in England to hold discussions with Newcastle United over a potential move to Lazio.
The Frenchman only arrived at the club last summer as one of several new faces brought in by Steve McClaren.
He proved to be a poor capture though, eventually spending the second half of the season on loan at Marseille.

He has now been linked with a quick exit from St James’ Park, and Lazio look to be keen on a move for the midfielder as a replacement for the departing Antonio Candreva.
And according to Corriere dello Sport, his agent has now travelled to England to negotiate his exit from the Magpies.
They report that the Serie A side have already agreed terms with the player, but currently there is no agreement in place with Rafa Benitez’s side.

According to the newspaper, that is because they are looking to recoup the £15 million they paid for him last summer.
It now remains to be seen if a deal can be struck, with Newcastle having already proved they are willing to stand firm when it comes to selling players this summer.
