Arsenal and Manchester City will miss out on the signing of Murray Johnson to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to The Daily Record.

According to the report, Arsenal, City and Chelsea are interested in signing Johnson in the summer of 2021.

However, it is Wolves who have won the race to the signature of the coveted 16-year-old, with his club Hibernian to get paid £250,000, according to the report.

The report has claimed that Wolves are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Scottish club Hibernian that will see the teenage goalkeeper moved to the Premier League club in the summer of 2021.

One for the future

Johnson is only 16 years of age, and it is clear that he is not going to play for the Wolves first team anytime soon.

The teenager has played thrice for the Scotland Under-16 side and has been training with the Hibernian first team.

While Arsenal and City would love to have the best young emerging talents in their academy, the Gunners and the Citizens could probably continue to monitor Johnson at Wolves and perhaps make a move for him in a few years’ time when he has broken into the first team at the Wanderers.
