According to Sky Sports (21:35), Liverpool attacker Takumi Minamino is now undergoing a medical with Southampton ahead of a loan move.
It’s claimed that Saints officials started talks with Liverpool over a deal to sign Minamino earlier today, and have now reach an agreement.
The deal will see Minamino head on loan to Southampton for six months, and a medical is underway ahead of his move being completed before tonight’s deadline.
Minamino will meet up with his new teammates at Southampton’s team hotel ahead of facing Manchester United, but he won’t be able to play in that game.
The 26-year-old’s move hasn’t been done in time for him to be registered for Tuesday’s game at Old Trafford.
Minamino only joined Liverpool in last year’s January window, but he has struggled to make an impact at Anfield.

He now has the chance to go and play regularly for Southampton, and hopefully prove that he should be given more opportunities at Liverpool.
Minamino now follows in the footsteps of Tadanari Lee and Maya Yoshida in being a Japanese international to turn out for Southampton – providing the deal is done in time.
