Former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup is reportedly trying to convince Montero to join him at Al-Rayyan.
Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero is in talks over a £3.5 million move to Al-Rayyan, The Sun reports (July 25, page 51).
And it is claimed Montero could quit Swansea for a big payday in the Qatar Stars League.

Al-Rayyan are managed by former Jacks boss Michael Laudrup, who is said to be trying to convince the 27-year-old to join him in the Middle East.
Nevertheless, it was in fact not Laudrup but the Dane’s successor, Garry Monk, who brought Montero to Swansea three years ago.
The Ecuadorian initially impressed in South Wales, but made just two starts during Swansea’s 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
Newcastle United are among the clubs to have been linked with a move for Montero this summer (The Sun), but it remains to be seen whether Rafa Benitez’s side or anyone else will attempt to hijack Al Rayyan’s bid.

The Swansea number 20 has played 72 times for the Jacks in total, scoring two goals and creating 11 for his teammates.
