Swansea’s Ashley Williams is reportedly close to joining Everton.
Swansea’s Ashley Williams looks dejected
According to Wales Online, Everton could complete the signing of Swansea City defender Ashley Williams in the next 48 hours after a £10m deal was all but agreed.
The Toffees have been searching for defensive reinforcements this summer, as question marks hang over the future of John Stones – and whilst a host of names have been suggested, new manager Ronald Koeman appears to have put his faith in a Premier League veteran.

Wales Online claim that centre back Ashley Williams is on the verge of leaving Swansea City for Goodison Park, as Everton have all but agreed a £10m deal for the player.
Williams, 31, joined Swansea from Stockport County back in 2008, and has racked up more than 300 appearances for the club, whilst captaining them since 2013.
Wales’ Ashley Williams
A solid, dependable centre back who has missed just 12 Premier League games since Swansea’s promotion in 2011, Williams has earned plaudits over the years, and was a key part of Wales’ run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
Now, he appears to be on his way to Merseyside, as it’s claimed that Williams has been tempted by Everton’s advances for him, and he’s ready to bring his eight-year spell at the Liberty Stadium to an end.

It’s claimed that, with the clubs set to shake hands on a £10m deal, Williams could be confirmed as an Everton player inside 48 hours, with Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin believed to be resigned to his captain and star defender leaving the club.
Despite turning 32 in a matter of days, this is a real coup for Everton, and will bring solidity to one of last season’s worst defences – but for Swansea, it’s a major blow to lose such a leader less than two weeks away from the start of the Premier League season.
