Swansea City are looking for new additions in the January transfer window.
According to a report from French publication L’Equipe, Swansea City have made a proposal to take former Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta on loan this month.
The 25-year-old currently plays for Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune and despite having a contract until December 2019 he is being linked with a move.

Saint-Etienne are said to want to bring the player to Ligue 1 but could struggle to match his substantial wages.
L’Equipe goes on to claim that both Swansea and Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna have made loan offers with higher wage proposals than the French club, and it will be interesting to see how this one plays out in the coming days.

Deportivo are said to be leading the race as things stand, but new Swansea manager Paul Clement will be desperate to bring in quality reinforcements as he attempts to guide his team up the table sooner rather than later.
Kakuta is already something of a journeyman yet his versatility in attacking positions could come in handy at the Liberty Stadium if he arrived.
