Roy Hodgon wants his former England favourite at Palace but Swansea City need Arsenal midfielder’s creativity at the Liberty Stadium.

An alarming lack of creativity has Swansea City supporters once again fretting about their side’s Premier League status.
Losing playmaking extraordinaire, assist-king and set-piece specialist Gylfi Sigurdsson was always going to leave a gaping hole in The Swans squad. But it was hardly a secret that the Icelandic talisman wanted to move to Everton after making himself unavailable for the club’s pre-season tour.
Why Swansea did not plan ahead and target a suitable replacement when they had both time and money on their side is a question that has not yet been answered.
Though at least Wales’ only Premier League representative are putting plans in place to rectify the issue in the January transfer window. The Telegraph reports that Swansea are interested in handing Jack Wilshere a fresh start with his future at Arsenal uncertain.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has frequently claimed that Wilshere is getting back to his best at Arsenal after returning from a season-long loan spell at Bournemouth. The midfielder, however, has made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, totalling 25 minutes.
With his contract expiring in the summer and having fallen well down the pecking order for England, Jack Cork was even called-up ahead of Wilshere by manager Gareth Southgate this week, a clean slate could be exactly what the 25-year-old needs.
The Telegraph adds that former England manager Roy Hodgson is very keen on the idea of bringing his one-time Three Lions favourite to Crystal Palace in the New Year. West Ham are also understood to be keen.

However, a Swansea side who have been a chore to watch at times this season could perhaps benefit most from Wilshere’s incisive passing and innate vision.
