The Yeovil Town player is seemingly bound for Swansea City just days after a move to West Bromwich Albion looked to be on the cards.

Swansea City are ready to sign Tom James after the Yeovil Town defender’s botched transfer to West Bromwich Albion, according to the Sun’s live blog (Monday 6th August).

James appeared to be West Brom bound after Yeovil accepted an offer from the Baggies last week, but the move collapsed amid conflicting reports over the two parties’ failure to agree personal terms and a failed medical.

But Swansea are seemingly undeterred, and are said to have stepped in to do a £400,000 deal for the 22-year-old, who began his career at rivals Cardiff City.

James can operate equally well at right- or centre-back, although it is the latter position in which he is perhaps most likely to feature for Swansea.

The Welsh side recently lost centre-backs Alfie Mawson and Kyle Bartley to Fulham and West Brom respectively.

West Brom were quick to get over their James disappointment, landing Tosin Adarabioyo on loan from Manchester City on Friday.
