The 27-year-old Frenchman has shone in Switzerland with Young Boys and is reportedly on the radar of Southampton and Swansea City.

Few teams utilise the transfer market quite as efficiently as Southampton. From Dusan Tadic to Victor Wanyama, Virgil Van Dyke to Ryan Bertrand, they stand proud as a modern day example of how to progress season on season while staying well within your means.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that they are reportedly eyeing up another bargain buy in the January transfer window. According to L’Equipe, Young Boys winger Yoric Ravet is on Claude Puel’s radar after an excellent season in the Swiss top flight.

In many ways, Ravet is a typical Southampton signing. At 27, the former France youth international has rather slipped under the radar until now and, due to his rather modest surroundings, should be available on the cheap.

Yet, The Saints have competition. L’Equipe add that Swansea City boss Paul Clement is hoping to add another winger in his squad just days after purchasing Dutch international Luciano Narsingh for an astoundingly low price.

With Wayne Routledge in talks with Birmingham City, according to Wales Online, the Swans are looking for creative reinforcements to get the best out of targetman Fernando Llorente and penalty box poacher Borja Baston in order to push away from relegation danger.

The current standings dictate that Swansea are in far greater need of quality incomings in January but Ravet could once again epitomise Southampton’s impeccable eye for a bargain.
