Swansea City wanted Nacer Chadli from Tottenham Hotspur last summer and his future at West Bromwich Albion is now in doubt.
This time last year, Swansea City were left frustrated with their inability to land Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli. According to The Sun, the Belgian attacker was on the radar of the South Coast club, only for Spurs’ hefty asking price to scupper the move.
In the end, West Brom raced in and nicked Chadli from under Swansea’s nose, paying a club-record £13 million, according to Sky Sports. And despite an impressive debut season at The Hawthorns, scoring or assisting 10 Premier League goals as The Baggies finished 10th, he could be on the move again.
Nacer Chadli has a decent scoring record for a wide player
Because The Sun report that Chadli failed to fly out to West Brom’s pre-season training camp in Austria after a row with manager Tony Pulis. It is alleged that the winger took issue with the old-school coach’s gruelling schedule and will now be forced to train at home, away from the rest of the squad.
And though the report adds that Chadli is not attempting to engineer a move away from The Hawthorns, the Express and Star report that Swansea could try their luck for a second summer in succession.
Second time lucky?
The report claims that Premier League rivals Stoke City are also interested but it will be interesting to see whether Swansea renew their interest.
The Sun (page 65, July 9th) claimed that Paul Clement’s side will sell jet-heeled Ecuadorian Jefferson Montero this summer with Newcastle United interested in a £4 million deal.
Therefore, Chadli could replace him in the squad, while adding ice-cool finishing that Montero simply does not offer.

However, West Brom would surely want to recoup the money they paid for Chadli last summer if they were to consider selling him, meaning Swansea would have no choice but to pay big.
