Andy Yiadom looks likely to move to Swansea City this summer after they outbid Huddersfield Town for the Barnsley defender.

It seems increasingly unlikely that Andy Yiadom will still be a Barnsley player by the end of the transfer window. The full-back has been linked with a move to the Premier League throughout the summer though The Tykes’ hardline approach has made it difficult for potential suitors to lure him from Oakwell.

The Sun claims that Barnsley have rejected three offers from Huddersfield Town for Yiadom and have refused to budge on their asking price of £3 million. However, with Swansea City now offering precisely that amount, it appears that the wheels could finally be in motion.

The report claims that Swansea have moved to the front of the queue to sign the 25-year-old after making a £3 million bid. This means that Huddersfield, who were prepared to pay £2 million, could be left disappointed.

And Yiadom would be welcomed with open arms at the Liberty Stadium. A right-back is high on manger Paul Clement’s list of demands this summer, with ageing Spaniard Angel Rangel no longer a regular part of the first-team.

Turkish publication Milliyet claimed that Swansea had joined Crystal Palace in the race for Fenerbahce’s 46-time Dutch international Gregory Van der Wiel. But it appears that Yiadom is the club’s first choice option.

A move to the Premier League would cap a stunning 12 months for the former Braintree Town defender. Just 12 months ago, Yiadom swapped League Two Barnet for Barnsley and, after a fine start to the season, he received his first call-up for Ghana at the African Cup of Nations.
