Fernando Llorente looks set to leave Swansea City though Norwich City striker Nelson Oliveira is one of the names in the frame to arrive.

It’s fair to say Nelson Oliveira didn’t exactly set the world alight when arriving on British shores with Swansea City during the second half of the 2014/15 season.

His short-term loan from Portuguese giants Benfica yielded just one goal in 11 appearances. However, two years on, speculation has intensified that the one-time wonderkid could be set for a shock return to the Liberty Stadium.

The Mail (live blog, 9.05am) reports that Oliveira is one of the strikers Swansea are considering with Fernando Llorente seemingly closing in on an exit from South Wales with both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the frame. The Swans are understood to have tabled a £12 million bid.

Oliveira has been heavily linked with a move away from Norwich, who he only joined on a permanent basis from Benfica last summer, and Swansea are now the latest club ready to test their resolve.

Despite not being a regular starter under new Norwich boss Daniel Farke, Oliveira has maintained his impressive form from last season into the new campaign with three goals in four Championship appearances. He also scored nine in 28 league games during a temporary spell at Nottingham Forest in 2015/16.

And it now appears that Oliveira will be handed a second chance to make the grade in the Premier League. Yet, after settling in English football, it appears the 16-time Portugal international would make a far more impressive impact at Swansea this time around.

HITC sources told us last month that Reading had a bid accepted for the striker while The Yorkshire Evening Post claimed Leeds had identified him as a potential replacement for Chris Wood.

However, it now appears that Swansea will get their man – again.
