Swansea City are hopeful of signing the Hull City midfielder within the next 24 hours.

According to reports from ESPN, Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas is edging closer to joining Premier League outfit Swansea City.

The report claims that Clucas is expected to travel to Wales for talks and a medical at Swansea on Monday, and that Paul Clement is hopeful of completing his signature inside the next 24 hours.

Clucas missed Saturday’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers because he was close to a move to another club, and ESPN reports that it was Swansea.

Clement has money burning hole in his pocket following Gylfi Sigurdsson’s £45 million move to Everton last week.

The Swansea boss is now looking to reinvest the money to bolster several areas of the pitch, and is ready to move for Clucas.

Premier League outfit Burnley have had two bids rejected for the 26-year-old, but it seems he is moving to the Wales club instead, after they agreed to a £12 million deal.

Clucas was one of Hull City’s key players last season, and a move to Swansea would give him the opportunity to continue playing in the Premier League.
