Swansea City are ‘keen on’ an ambitious £6 million move for Napoli defender Raul Albiol, according to the Mirror.
Swansea manager Paul Clement worked with Albiol briefly at Real Madrid, before the 31-year-old’s switch to Italy.

Despite starting 25 times this past Serie A campaign, Napoli are said to be willing to part with Albiol for less than his £13 million release clause.
However, it is claimed that Swansea could face competition from Spanish giants Valencia if they decide to pursue any interest in the 2010 World Cup and double European Championship winner.

Albiol, a native of the Valencian Community, began his career at the Mestalla Stadium before moving to Real Madrid for £12.75 million eight years ago.
As well as Clement, the 51-cap Spaniard would reunite with former Napoli teammate Federico Fernandez and international colleague Fernando Llorente at Swansea.

The Welsh side have a strong affinity for Spanish players, with Roberto Martinez, Jordi Gomez and long-serving right-back Angel Rangel among those to have starred at the Liberty Stadium.
