According to reports from Gazza Mercato, Premier League side Swansea City are considering replacing under-pressure manager Francesco Guidolin with former West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola.

Swansea have endured a difficult start to their campaign so far, and while there is still a long way to go the volatile managerial nature of the Premier League means that Swans’ boss Guidolin already finds himself under immense pressure at the moment.

In addition to the poor results, there have been reports that Guidolin has fallen out with a host of his first-team players over questionable training methods and many believe that the Italian will be the first Premier League manager to be shown the door this season.

The Telegraph claimed that Guidolin is currently ‘a dead man walking’ and that the Swans are considering replacing the 60-year-old with Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.

However, Giggs has gone on to deny claims that he is in contact with Swansea over a potential move and has insisted that he is currently perfectly happy in his media involvements (Talksport).

With Giggs seemingly out of the picture, Swansea are looking at other targets and now according to reports from Italian outlet Gazza Mercato, the Welsh outfit are currently considering a move for Gianfranco Zola.

Zola’s last job was at Qatari outfit Al-Arabi but he was sacked earlier this year following a poor run of results. Despite his difficult spell, Zola has prior experience in England with West Ham as well as Watford, and now Swansea are said to be ready to take a chance on the Italian.

If indeed Zola arrives to the Liberty Stadium, the 50-year-old is expected to bring his trusted aide Pierluigi Casiraghi to South Wales as well.
