West Bromwich Albion have reportedly failed with a move for Swansea City’s Federico Fernandez.
According to The Sun, Swansea City’s new manager Paul Clement has blocked West Bromwich Albion’s attempts to sign defender Federico Fernandez.
The Swans have been busy bringing new players to the club this month, as Martin Olsson, Luciano Narsingh and Tom Carroll have all arrived at the Liberty Stadium.

Intriguingly though, one player appears to be attracting interest – and it isn’t star playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson, though some clubs would no doubt love to have him.
The Sun repor that West Bromwich Albion are keen to strengthen their defence by signing Swansea centre back Federico Fernandez – but new Swans boss Paul Clement has allegedly blocked the move.

Fernandez, 27, joined Swansea from Napoli after playing for Argentina at the 2014 World Cup, and played 64 games in his first two seasons with the club.
However, the 6ft 3in centre back has struggled for playing time this season, featuring in just ten Premier League games having slipped behind the likes of Alfie Mawson, Mike van der Hoorn and Jordi Amat in the pecking order.
West Brom, keen to bring in a new centre back this month, had reportedly eyed up Fernandez as a possible signing ahead of the transfer deadline in less than two weeks.
Unfortunately for the Baggies, it’s claimed that new Swansea manager Paul Clement has blocked the move, as he wants to see the Argentinian in action before considering selling him on as Swansea desperately attempt to battle relegation.
