Kylian Mbappe would fancy a move to Arsenal if he ever came to the Premier League, according to a report.

Journalist Miguel Delaney, of The Independent, has claimed that if Kylian Mbappe ever moved to the Premier League, then Arsenal would be his ideal destination.

Arsenal have a long history with French players.

Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Olivier Giroud are just three of the top French stars who have succeeded at the Gunners.

And, of course, there is the legendary Arsene Wenger, one of the most successful managers in Premier League era.

The report claims that the world-class striker, who has scored an astonishing 244 goals in just 325 appearances in his professional career, believes the Gunners would be the best place for him if he were to move.

This is because the forward has reportedly been impressed with how the North London club have rebuilt and he has liked what he has seen from Arteta’s team in the past 12 months and he would relish the opportunity of trying to turn the Gunners into Premier League title winners.

According to the report, “Arsenal would actually be Mbappe’s first preference if he were to ever go to the Premier League, both because he likes the evolution of Mikel Arteta’s team and would also enjoy the challenge of delivering the title to the club again.”

Kylian Mbappe to Arsenal is unlikely

Not to dampen Arsenal fans’ spirits, but the move for the electric French forward to the Emirates Stadium is incredibly unlikely.

In the Independent’s report, it is also stated that a move for the forward is unlikely due to the vast sums of money it would take to sign the forward, despite Mbappe only having 12 months left on his existing contract – which he signed last summer.

Real Madrid remain the most likely destination for the French forward, as things stand.

With Arsenal on the verge of announcing the signings of Declan Rice from West Ham for £105 million and Jurrien Timber from Ajax for £40 million, it seems unlikely that the Arsenal decision-makers would sanction the required funding to land the world’s hottest property.

The fee required for Mbappe, according to Sky Sports, would be £128 million.
