Sunderland are not expected to give their next manager much money to spend in the transfer window.
According to a repot in the Daily Mirror, Sunderland’s new manager is set to have under £15 million to spend on transfers.
Sunderland are expected to raise money from the sales of some of their first-team players this summer, including Lamine Kone.
The Black Cats have also offloaded Jordan Pickford to Everton recently – for around £30 million.
However, Sunderland are unable to invest most of the funds they have made from transfers in their first-team squad.
The Black Cats’ new boss will only be handed a minimal transfer funds to make the alterations that he needs.
With Sunderland’s squad likely to need major surgery, it makes the job looks tough for whoever takes it up.
Sunderland are desperate to win promotion next season, but currently look a long way off being able to achieve that aim.
Sunderland’s players return to pre-season training next week, with a new manager still not in place at the Stadium of Light.
