Sunderland are said to have offered £1 million for the forward.

Mohamed Eisa of Cheltenham Town during the Pre-Season Friendly between Bristol City v Cheltenham Town on July 10, 2018 in Weston-Super-Mare, England.

Sky Sports suggests (liveblog entry 14:13) Sunderland and Cheltenham Town are currently around £500,000 apart in their valuations of Mohamed Eisa.

The broadcaster reports Sunderland have offered £1 million for the forward, for whom it claims Cheltenham are looking for a fee of around £1.5 million.

Eisa, who moved to the League Two side from non-league Greenwich Borough last summer, scored 25 goals in his first full professional campaign.

And Sunderland are not the only club said keen on the 24-year-old, who also has interest from third tier sides Peterborough United and Portsmouth.

Sunderland have exclusively signed free agents during the summer transfer window, although that could soon change with a bid for Reading midfielder George Evans also placed this week, according to Sky Sports.

The relegated side look set to receive yet another cash windfall with Wahbi Khazri said to be on the verge of completing a permanent transfer to Saint Etienne.

Should Sunderland stump up the cash for Cheltenham’s Mohamed Eisa?
