Sunderland winger Callum McManaman may be about to leave the Stadium of Light for the coming season.

Sunderland are preparing for life in League One following their second relegation in as many seasons. And after having so little to smile about over the last few years, the fans will be hoping that there is a mass clear-out amongst the playing squad over the coming weeks.

The Sun on Sunday reports that McManaman is one of the players that the club want to move off the wage bill less than one year after he joined from West Brom. And while shifting him permanently may be a tricky task, it appears that one club are prepared to look at a potential deal.
It seems unlikely that McManaman will have many qualms about moving to the DW Stadium. The former England under-20 international spent eight years on Wigan’s books before leaving for the Baggies in a £4.75 million deal – as reported by BBC Sport.

McManaman has lost his way in recent years. He struggled under Tony Pulis at The Hawthorns, and has hardly got his career back on track with the Black Cats, scoring just once for the club.
With Wigan, he won the FA Cup and took home the man of the match honour following the final, so perhaps he may be hoping that a return to familiar surroundings may help him.
