According to a report in the Sunderland Echo, Sunderland will have to break their transfer record to sign Swansea City forward Andre Ayew.
Sunderland tried to complete a deal for Ayew back in January, but they were rebuffed in their attempts.
However, Sam Allardyce has continued to track the Ghanian forward and reportedly has put him near the top of his wishlist this summer.
Allardyce feels that Ayew would enhance Sunderland’s forward line, after he netted 12 goals for Swansea this season.
The Welsh side are understood to be wanting at least £15 million to sell Ayew, but the Sunderland Echo claim that they would be willing to allow him to depart if their asking price is met.
Allardyce has made signing a winger one of Sunderland’s top priorities in this transfer window, as he looks to bolster his options at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats have had to battle against the drop for the last few seasons, and they are determined to make their survival in the Premier League much more comfortable next term.
