The former Sunderland boss had two Chelsea players in his sights, a report claims.

Sunderland were tracking two Chelsea youngsters before David Moyes’ departure this week, the Daily Mail reports.
It is claimed the Mackems’ were one of several clubs to enquire about Blues striker Tammy Abraham, with the prospect of signing of winger Isaiah Brown also discussed.

Both players have excelled in this season’s Championship, in which Abraham scored 23 goals while on loan to Bristol City – in what is his first full campaign at senior level.
Brown, meanwhile, shone for relegated Rotherham United in first half of the season and can end it by helping Huddersfield Town into the Premier League via Monday’s play-off final.

But with several top flight clubs, including Sunderland’s fierce rivals Newcastle United, said to be circling around Abraham and Brown reportedly wanted on a permanent basis if Huddersfield go up, it is unlikely that either player will be heading to the Stadium of Light next season – not least after the Mackems’ recent managerial change.
Sunderland have signed Papy Djilobodji and Patrick van Aanholt [now Crystal Palace] from Chelsea in recent seasons.
Could Sunderland still get their hands on Abraham and Brown?
