David Moyes is desperate to add quality to his Sunderland squad this month.
Reports emanating from Turkey today suggest that the Black Cats are weighing up a £4 million bid for Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan, after his club refused to sell him to fierce rivals Fenerbahce, according to Turkish media outlet Fotospor.
Sunderland’s struggles in the transfer market have been well documented of late, with manager David Moyes and club owner Ellis Short both commenting on the limited funds available with which to strengthen the playing squad at the Stadium of Light this month.

But with Patrick van Aanholt close to completing his £14 million switch to Crystal Palace (Sky Sports), the Black Cats will be in a much stronger position financially.
And Fotospor claim that Sunderland are keen to bring Arslan, 26, to England, with Besiktas open to receiving offers from clubs outside of Turkey.

The midfielder has made 17 league appearances for the Super Lig side this term, registering two assists.
He is renowned for his passing ability, and would be a good signing for the Wearsiders, should a move eventually come to fruition.
And with just three days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, this will certainly be one to keep an eye on.
