Sunderland are looking to sign Ryan Woods in the January transfer window.

The report claims that Simon Grayson is a “big fan” of the player, and wants him to be at the centre of a new-look midfield.

The Black Cats tried to sign Woods in the summer transfer window, but they failed to lure him away from Griffin Park.
Woods is a good midfielder who can also operate as a defender, and he would be a good addition to the Sunderland squad.
He joined Brentford in 2015 from Shrewsbury Town, and has made 88 appearances in the Championship so far.

The Sunday People claims that Grayson has been given hope that an offer in the region of £3 million would tempt the Bees into selling the 23-year-old.
Sunderland have made a poor start to their Championship campaign and find themselves in 22nd position after nine games.
They have managed just one win so far, and are winless in their last seven Championship games.
