Sunderland have been linked with Peterborough United star Marcus Maddison.

Marcus Maddison is one of the best players in League One, and there is no surprise that Leeds United and Nottingham Forest reportedly want the Peterborough United star.
According to Leeds Live, Leeds want to sign Maddison from Peterborough in the summer transfer window, while The Nottingham Post has credited Forest and Reading with interest in the 24-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.
The Nottingham Post has also claimed that The Posh value the former Gateshead man at £2.5 million.

Sunderland interest
The Daily Mail has now reported that Sunderland, who will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship, are interested in Maddison.
It has been reported that Sunderland are keen on securing the services of the attacking midfielder despite his past link with Newcastle United.
Maddison came through the ranks at Newcastle and left the Magpies in 2013 without playing a single game for the first team.

Quality footballer
Maddison was one of the best players for Peterborough in League One last season, and the attacking midfielder would be a smart signing for Sunderland, who will be aiming to win promotion to the Championship.
According to Transfermarkt.com, the attacking midfielder scored eight goals and provided 18 assists in 41 League One appearances for Peterborough this past season.
