Sunderland are interested in signing Marc Roberts from Barnsley in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Roberts is valued at £5 million, and that Black Cats hope to use the funds they would receive from the sale of Lamine Kone, who could leave the club if they get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Roberts is currently playing in the Championship for Barnsley and has a contract with Tykes until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Sun has also claimed that Sunderland manager David Moyes is interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy.

The 26-year-old Australia international midfielder joined City in the summer of 2016 and is currently on a season-long loan deal at Huddersfield Town.

Mooy has scored three goals and created 82 chances in 37 Championship appearances for promotion-chasing Huddersfield so far this season.

Sunderland are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with 20 points from 31 matches.
