Celtic youngster Calvin Miller is reportedly wanted by Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Sunderland, who will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship, are hoping to sign Miller on a season-long loan deal.
Celtic are claimed to be ready to hand the 20-year-old, who can operate as a full-back or as a winger, a contact extension and then loan him out.

Good decision?
Miller is a very talented and promising young versatile footballer, and it would be a smart decision to send him out on loan to Sunderland.
Competition for places in the Celtic team is fierce, and it would not help the 20-year-old much if he stays on the substitutes’ bench or play youth football.
Sunderland will be aiming to win automatic promotion from League One to the Championship next season, and playing in a competitive environment and working with Jack Ross would help Miller in his progress, and development and maturity.

Miller is rated highly by Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who compared the youngster to 28-year-old Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand, who is valued at €16 million (£14.01m) by the CIES Football Observatory and won the Champions League with Chelsea back in 2011-12.
Rodgers told The Daily Record about Miller in December 2016: “Calvin is one of a number of good players in our development team and for me this job is also about bringing in young players.
“He’s very quick and he reminds me of Ryan, who I had at Chelsea and was converted from a winger to left back.”
