According to Danish newspaper BT, scouts from Sunderland and Swansea City will watch Copenhagen striker Federico Santander in action against Club Brugge in the Champions League this week.

Neither Sunderland or Swansea have impressed in the Premier League this season, with Sunderland picking up just one point in their first six games of the campaign, whilst Swansea have won only once so far with under-pressure Francesco Guidolin at the helm.

With just five goals each this term, it’s clear that both Guidolin and Sunderland boss David Moyes need more firepower during the January transfer window – and they appear to have set their sights on the same striker.

Danish newspaper BT report that there is mounting Premier League interest in Copenhagen striker Federico Santander, and whilst Everton are keen, both Sunderland and Swansea will send scouts to Denmark this week to watch Santander in action.

Santander, 25, came up through the ranks with Guarani in his native Paraguay, scoring 34 goals in two spells with the club having spent time with Toulouse, Racing Club and Tigre before earning a move from Guarani to Copenhagen last year.

With 14 goals last season, Santander impressed for Copenhagen, and he’s already hit three goals this season to again prove his quality in Danish football.

This week, the Paraguayan international, who has one goal in six caps for his country, will be called upon by Copenhagen as they take on Belgian side Club Brugge at home in the Champions League.

Sunderland and Swansea scouts will allegedly be there to see him in action, with a January move potentially on the cards if he impresses as the two sides look for possible striker targets.
