Vida is thought to be a long-term target for Sunderland.

Vida, who scored the game’s only goal as Croatia beat Kosovo on Sunday afternoon, has been linked with Sunderland for some time.
And it would appear that despite the appointment of Simon Grayson as manager two months ago, the 28-year-old remains on the Mackems’ radar.

With his contract due to expire at the end of 2017, interest in Vida is likely to intensify over the next three months – and Besiktas, the Turkish champions, may not be Sunderland’s only competitors.
Grayson added Marc Wilson to his defensive options on deadline day, and was also able to keep hold of wanted man Lamine Kone.

However, it is possible the Ivorian could again come to the attention of other clubs, ahead of the January transfer window, and Sunderland are perhaps wise to consider alternatives such as Vida.
Come to… Sunderland? Can the Mackems beat Besiktas to Vida’s signing?
