According to The Sun, Sam Allardyce is the top managerial choice of a Chinese consortium targeting a takeover of Sunderland.
The Black Cats lost Allardyce to England over the summer, and brought in former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes as his replacement.

So far, Sunderland have played eight Premier League games and failed to win any of them, picking up just two points so far as they seek a first victory.
Moyes is under increasing pressure to get results given that Sunderland sit bottom of the Premier League table, and his cause hasn’t been helped by the availability of popular predecessor Allardyce.

‘Big Sam’ lost his job as England boss last month after just 67 days following a sting from The Telegraph, in which he was filmed offering advice on getting around FA rules to undercover reporters.
The 62-year-old may look for a spell out of management after such an embarrassing fiasco, but he’s a proven Premier League manager, and given his availability, it was only a matter of time before he was linked with a return to the game.

The Sun claim that a Chinese consortium are bidding to take over Sunderland, and if they do purchase the club from Ellis Short, then they will pull out all the stops to bring Allardyce back to the Stadium of Light.
Allardyce worked wonders to keep Sunderland in the Premier League last season, and may be a better fit for the role than Moyes was, but with his reputation tarnished over the last few weeks, it’s unclear what the future holds for Allardyce.
