Sunderland have been linked with a move for Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods.

Woods is said to be valued at £6 million by Brentford, which is currently outside of Sunderland’s transfer budget.
The Black Cats currently only have the money available to bring in loans and free transfers, with fringe players needing to be offloaded to raise funds.

Ndong is one of the players who is thought to be available at the Stadium of Light, and Coleman may be relying on the midfielder departing to snap up Woods.
Woods has impressed at Brentford, and looks at home at Championship level, with the flame-haired midfielder now thought to be on Coleman’s radar.

Sunderland are looking to bolster their midfield ranks in the January transfer window, as they search for an increase in quality.
Sunderland have improved since Coleman took charge, but they are still locked in a relegation battle, and have not been able to escape the bottom three.
