Sunderland are reportedly keen on QPR’s Nedum Onuoha.

According to The Mirror, Sunderland are interested in bringing defender Nedum Onuoha back to the Stadium of Light this summer.
The Black Cats suffered a second consecutive relegation this season, and will start next season in League One after a shocking campaign under Simon Grayson and Chris Coleman.
New owner Stewart Donald must now find a new manager to guide the club back to the second tier, and it seems that some plans are already being formulated for the transfer window.
The Mirror report that Sunderland have been looking at free agents to target for an immediate return to the Championship, and they are keen to re-sign defender Nedum Onuoha.

The Queens Park Rangers captain will become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of June, and he wants to leave Loftus Road in order to return to the north of England.
Sunderland would fit that bill, and the 31-year-old actually spent the 2010-11 season on loan at the Stadium of Light from Manchester City, making 31 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats.
Whilst Onuoha would no doubt prefer to stay in the Championship, a return to Sunderland – where he can go back to his former club attempt to lead them back from the brink – could be appealing, and Sunderland would certainly be making a smart move if they can land a surprise free transfer swoop for their former defender this summer.
