Sunderland are reportedly planning move for David Cotterill in the January transfer window.
Chris Coleman has strict financial constraints and can only bring in players on loan / sign free agents, but at the same time he needs to add players to his fragile squad.

The midfield is one area where Coleman needs to add players with the squad badly ravaged with injuries. Darron Gibson becomes the latest player to join the long-term absentee list.
Coleman is also without Duncan Watmore, Lee Cattermole, Didier Ndong, and Jonny Williams – all remain absent through injuries.
The report claims that Sunderland are pondering over the offer for a short-term deal to Cotterill, who was released by Birmingham last month.
Coleman has worked with the 30-year-old during his time in charge of Wales, and is fully aware of his qualities.
Cotterill has earned 24 senior caps for Wales and and already has over 370 match appearances to his name. However, Cotterill may not be willing to accept a deal of anything less than 18 months, and it remains to be seen whether Coleman can convince him in moving to the Stadium of Light in the next few days.
