According to the Daily Record, Sunderland are interested in signing Hibernian talent Josh Doig.
It’s claimed that Hibs may face a battle to hang on to Ryan Porteous as well as Doig, with English interest mounting.
Sunderland are thought to be watching Doig closely, with Stoke City also keen on luring him south of the border.
Doig, 18, has impressed this season from a left back or left wing back role, earning huge praise for his displays.
He has picked up two assists going forward, and looks to be a huge talent for the future both for club and country.
If Sunderland do move to sign Doig, then that means they would be raiding Jack Ross – their own former boss who is now in charge of Hibs.

Ross recently branded Doig’s impact ‘impressive’, highlighting how it’s great to see him playing so many games at such a young age.
If Sunderland want a left back for the future, Doig could be the man – but they would have to beat Stoke to a deal.
